Manatee was founded in 2024 as a joint venture between Nordic SeaFarm and FutureLab & Partners. Combining on the ground material knowledge together with go to market experience to accelerate adoption of seaweed as a material technology for circular product and packaging systems.
Our team consists of researchers, designers, strategists & entrepreneurs with a rich background ranging from deep knowledge in ocean materials, biomaterials, design, circular systems, industry & innovation.

Seaweed has big potential as regenerative materials for our products & packaging, however, only if we place it within the right system conditions. Our mission is to make ocean biomaterials available through sustainable farming and value chain processes, creating a material stream that is transparent, traceable, reliable and responsible.
