Manatee makes ocean biomaterials available at scale for circular packaging and product solutions, providing a regenerative alternative to fossil and finite resources. Our seaweed materials come from the Swedish oceans and are refined on Scandinavian ground. Building on a long tradition of utilising seaweed for product applications, we aim to make a reliable and transparent source of seaweed material available for generations to come.

Farming practices are one of the foundations of humankind and our economy. However, through increased use of chemicals and overproduction our farming practices have become unsustainable. This hasn’t only affected our farming lands, yearly 710 tonnes of pesticide active ingredients finds its ways towards our oceans, creating a lasting damaging impact on our blue ecosystems.
With Manatee Biomaterials we want to utilise the powerhouse of seaweed to rebalance ocean and land sustainability, creating a new wave of biomaterials with a low footprint and high utilisation, that disappear when the time is right, regenerating the ocean ecosystem whilst enabling the next generation of circular product and packaging applications.
